REPORTS TO:  Head coach, Provincial Coach, Director of Rugby – Rugby Nova Scotia




1.    Maintenance of squad and team discipline on and off the field to the highest standards while administering the approved disciplinary procedures for players

2.    Monitor and provide reports as required on team performance, achievements, and outcomes

3.    Establish team and individual performance goals

4.    Adheres to all Rugby Nova Scotia requirements for coaching standards and expectations

5.    Work with local coaches to identify potential players (where applicable)

6.    Attend Coach Development sessions as required on a variety of topics including player Individual Performance Plans (IPPs), technical assessment, and development.


Experience and Qualifications:

1.    Must demonstrate a minimum of one to two years of previous coaching experience

2.    Must have a minimum certification at the NCCP Competition Introduction level (old level 2) or in the process of achieving the above

(Coaches, who do not meet this certification, can still apply and may be part of the staff as a developmental coach)

4.    Must have completed the online IRB Rugby Ready exam in 2016/2017

3.    Ability to provide feedback to players and staff

4.    Strong coaching leadership skills

8.    Excellent conflict management and resolution skills

9.    Computer aptitude

10.  Strong writing skills

11.  Excellent communication skills
