Head Coach Application

2019-2020 Season


The MtA Women’s Rugby Team is a club team that operates under the Clubs & Societies Constitution as

outlined by the MASU. We are self-governed by a 5-student member executive team. The head coach

works in tandem with the executive team as well as the Athletics Department throughout the duration of

the season. Our team competes in the Atlantic College Athletic Association (ACAA) league among other

university-level teams. We welcome players of all experience levels . The season runs from late August to

the beginning of November. While the role of Head Coach is primarily a volunteer position, a year-end

stipend is awarded to the Coach to compensate for some travel expenses and any other expenses that may

be encountered. Deadline to apply is March†15¨†2019†.


Job†Description

- Monitor the student-athletes to ensure their compliance with all team, departmental, university,

and ACAA/CCAA policies, rules and regulations

- Plan, schedule and deliver an effective yearly training plan

- Coordinate with the Athletic Director: (a) facility scheduling

- Review and monitor team training program

- Responsible for compliance with all MTA and ACAA/CCAA policies and regulations concerning

recruitment, financial aid and student-athlete eligibility

Position†Qualifications

- Experience coaching university aged women (~18-25) preferred, but not necessary

- World Rugby Level 1 coaching certification or Rugby Canada equivalent

- Available to start late August for training camp

- Time commitment for min. 3 practices per week + 1-2 games on the weekend
