The summer of 2025 is shaping up to be a major season for Nova Scotia’s high-performance rugby programs, with teams competing across regional and national stages. From junior development to elite sevens competition, athletes from across the province will represent Nova Scotia and the Atlantic region with pride and intensity.
Here’s what’s on the horizon:
Coast to Coast Cup – June 22 – Halifax, NS
Kicking off the season is the Coast to Coast Cup, set for Saturday, June 22 at Wanderers Grounds in downtown Halifax. This premier showcase will feature some of the top senior men’s talent in the country, including local representation from the home team, the Atlantic Privateers!
Schedule:
- 1:00 PM – Wolfpack vs Eastern Admirals
- 2:30 PM – U15 NS Women’s Navy vs White (7s exhibition match)
- 4:00 PM – Privateers vs Ontario Blues
This day of rugby promises a high-energy atmosphere with top-tier talent on display, right in the heart of the city.
U19 & Senior Atlantics – July 3–6 – Windsor, NS
Hosted by Bluenose Rugby and Kings-Edgehill School, the U19 and Senior Atlantic Championships will bring together provincial pride and future stars from across the region.

This four-day event will run from July 3–6 in Windsor, NS, with matches taking place on the historic Kings-Edgehill campus. Expect spirited Atlantic rivalries and a chance to see the next generation of national-level talent in action.
Rugby Canada NextGen 7s Women’s Camp – July 7–14 – Victoria, BC
From development to the national pipeline: Rugby Canada’s Women’s NextGen 7s Camp will be hosted at Shawnigan Lake School in Victoria, BC from July 7–14.
Nova Scotia’s own Emma DeLory has been invited as a guest coach at the camp, joining national team staff in identifying and developing the country’s next wave of elite women’s 7s athletes. The final athlete roster is expected in the coming weeks from Rugby Canada.
Canadian Rugby Championships – July 18–27 – Calgary, AB
Two regional U19 teams will head west to Calgary for the Canadian Rugby Championships, facing off against the best from across the country including Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia.
- U19 Women’s Team Atlantic, led by Nova Scotia and head coach Lysa McGrath
- U19 Men’s Team Atlantic, led by Newfoundland
This national competition offers a critical platform for scouting, selection, and future national team development.
U15/U17 Atlantic Championships – July 24–27 – Fredericton, NB
Youth development takes center stage as the Loyalists Rugby Club in Fredericton, NB hosts the U15 and U17 Atlantic Championships from July 24–27.
Nova Scotia will send their rising stars to compete against regional opponents in a weekend focused on learning, high-level play, and building future leaders in the sport.

Canada Games Rugby 7s – August 8–17 – St. John’s, NL
The summer concludes with one of the most prestigious youth sporting events in the country: the Canada Games. Rugby 7s will take place in the first week of the Games at the Swiler’s Rugby Club in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
